Tata Safari Stealth Edition vs. Dark Edition: Key Differences Explained

23 days ago | 5 Views

The Tata Safari Stealth Edition was introduced earlier this month, carrying a price of ₹26.90 lakh, ex-showroom. Notably, this marks the first occasion on which Tata has imposed a limit on the number of units for any of its special edition vehicles. Celebrating the 27th anniversary of the Safari brand, the Stealth Edition is restricted to just 2,700 units.

While the pre-facelift version of the Safari featured several special editions, following the 2023 update, the full-size SUV has only seen the introduction of one special edition in addition to the Stealth Edition, namely the Dark Edition. Both the Stealth Edition and the Dark Edition embrace a blacked-out aesthetic for both the exterior and interior; however, there are significant distinctions between the two special edition models.

Tata Safari Stealth vs Tata Safari Dark Edition: Exterior

The main distinction between the two products lies in their exterior finishes; the Dark Edition is characterized by a gloss black finish, whereas the Stealth Edition features a matte black finish. Both the Dark Edition and Stealth Edition of the Tata Safari are equipped with a blacked-out front grille, bumper, and skid plate, in contrast to the standard Safari, which includes silver accents. Other components, such as the connected LED daytime running lights, headlights, and fog lamps, remain consistent across both editions.

On the sides, both special editions are adorned with body-colored outside rearview mirrors and additional black elements, including door handles. Each special edition SUV is also marked with a distinctive 'Stealth' or 'Dark' badge on the fender, accompanied by a fully black Safari nameplate. While both models are fitted with blacked-out 19-inch wheels, the Stealth Edition showcases unique detailing with a combination of black and brushed aluminium finishes. The rear profiles of both special editions feature a fully black bumper and a Safari badge, along with connected LED taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler, mirroring the standard Tata Safari design.

Tata Safari Stealth vs Tata Safari Dark Edition: Interior

The interiors of both special edition models are largely similar, with minimal alterations compared to the exterior. The Tata Safari Dark Edition incorporates some chrome accents within the cabin, such as on the door handles. Conversely, the Stealth Edition features a completely black aesthetic.

Both special editions are equipped with black leatherette upholstery for the seating. The Stealth Edition boasts features derived from the highest specification trim, as it is based on the premium model.

Tata Safari Stealth vs Tata Safari Dark Edition: Price

The Stealth Edition of the Tata Safari is exclusively available in the top-tier Accomplished Plus variant, in contrast to the Dark Edition, which can be found across four different trim levels. The pricing for the Tata Safari Stealth Edition ranges from ₹26.90 lakh for the manual seven-seater model to ₹27 lakh for the automatic six-seater configuration, with both prices reflecting ex-showroom rates.

In comparison, the Tata Safari Dark Edition begins at a price of ₹19.65 lakh, while the top-tier Accomplished Plus Dark Edition with an automatic transmission in a six-seater layout is priced identically to the Stealth Edition at ₹27 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
