Tata Punch: Pricing

Pricing is a significant factor for consumers in the Indian automotive market. The Tata Punch is available in four distinct variants: Pure, Adventure, Creative, and Accomplished. The entry-level Pure variant is priced at ₹6.13 lakh (ex-showroom) with a manual transmission, while the most expensive option, the CAMO edition Creative + Sunroof with AMT, is listed at ₹10.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-tier manual variant, the CAMO edition Creative + Sunroof with MT, is priced at ₹9.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

In addition, the electric version of the Punch, the Tata Punch EV, stands out as one of the most competitively priced electric vehicles available. It starts at ₹10 lakh and is offered in three main variants: Smart, Adventure, and Empowered. The Punch EV features two battery pack options—25kWh and 35kWh—and provides two home charging solutions.

Tata Punch: Multiple powertrain options

The Punch stands out as the sole SUV in India available with petrol, CNG, and electric-only powertrains. This diverse offering allows customers to select their preferred option while remaining loyal to the brand. The internal combustion engine variants of the Punch feature a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which is paired with both manual and automatic transmission options. This engine produces a maximum power output of 87 bhp and a peak torque of 115 Nm. In contrast, the CNG variant is limited to a manual transmission and delivers lower performance, generating 15 bhp and 12 Nm of torque. The Punch EV is offered with two battery pack sizes, 25 kWh and 35 kWh, providing a driving range of 315 km and 421 km, respectively, on a single charge.

One of the primary reasons for the success of the Tata Punch is its high fuel efficiency. In a price-sensitive Indian market, the mileage of a vehicle is a crucial factor in assessing its value for money. With an impressive fuel efficiency of approximately 19 kmpl, the Tata Punch is well-positioned to compete with some of the most fuel-efficient vehicles available in India. Additionally, Tata Motors provides the Punch SUV in both CNG and fully electric variants. The CNG version boasts a fuel efficiency of around 27 kmpl, while the electric variant can travel up to 421 kilometers on a single charge.

SUVs are the talk of the town and the Tata Punch is one of the most affordable SUVs in the country. In terms of size, the Punch is the smallest SUV from Tata Motors. It stands 3,827 mm in length, 1,742 mm in width and 1,633 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,445 mm and a ground clearance of 187 mm.

The Tata Punch presents a commendable array of features relative to its price point. This micro SUV is equipped with a seven-inch floating infotainment system from Harman, which is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The entry-level variant is fitted with a 3.5-inch display. Additionally, the driver benefits from a seven-inch digital-analog instrument cluster that includes tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMs). The vehicle also incorporates cruise control, automatic climate control, and steering-mounted controls to enhance user convenience. Tata has integrated the iRA platform for smartphone connectivity, which facilitates real-time diagnostic reports and alerts for intrusions or crashes. Other notable convenience features comprise a voice-assisted sunroof, Push Start/Stop functionality, a height-adjustable driver's seat, and a cooled glovebox.
