Tata Motors is presently conducting road tests for the updated version of the Altroz premium hatchback. The Tata Altroz stands out as one of the limited premium hatchbacks available in the Indian market, competing against models such as the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Maruti Suzuki Swift.

The homegrown automotive manufacturer introduced the Altroz to the Indian market five years ago, and since its launch, the premium hatchback has not undergone any major updates. Currently, the company is developing a highly anticipated refresh for the vehicle. While Tata Motors has not disclosed a specific timeline for the launch of the facelifted Altroz, it is anticipated to debut around the festive season this year. It remains to be seen how the manufacturer will position the Altroz in terms of pricing relative to its competitors.

Tata Altroz hatchback: Key expectations  

The facelifted Tata Altroz is expected to feature a refined yet notably updated design language. Anticipated changes include a redesigned front profile with a modified bumper, updated headlamps, and a new set of alloy wheels. The side profile is likely to remain consistent with the existing model, while the rear is expected to showcase revised taillights.

Inside the cabin, the Tata Altroz facelift is projected to incorporate several enhancements. It is likely to feature a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to those found in other Tata vehicles, along with new upholstery. Nevertheless, the fundamental design philosophy of the interior is expected to remain unchanged from the current model. The existing Altroz is equipped with features such as ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, wireless mobile projection, rear AC vents, and iRA connected car technology.

Regarding the powertrain, the Tata Altroz facelift is anticipated to maintain the same engine and transmission options as the current version. Consequently, the updated Altroz will primarily offer cosmetic enhancements.
