TVS Motor Company Achieves 11% Growth in Two-Wheeler Sales by Year-End 2024

TVS Motor Company concluded the year 2024 on a positive note, reporting a 7 per cent increase in monthly sales for December. As per a statement issued on January 2nd, the company achieved sales of 321,687 units last month, an increase from 301,898 units in December 2023.

The company experienced an 8 per cent growth in total two-wheeler sales, which rose from 290,064 units in December 2023 to 312,002 units in December 2024. Domestic two-wheeler sales remained relatively stable, with 215,075 units sold in December 2024, compared to 214,988 units during the same month the previous year.

Scooters emerged as the top performers, showcasing an impressive 30 per cent growth. Sales increased from 103,167 units in December 2023 to 133,919 units in December 2024. Conversely, motorcycle sales experienced a slight decline, decreasing from 148,049 units last year to 144,811 units this December.

The electric vehicle segment witnessed a phenomenal 79 per cent growth. TVS sold 20,171 EVs in December 2024, a significant jump from 11,288 units in December 2023 highlighting the increasing demand for sustainable mobility solutions.

International shipments

TVS experienced a notable increase in total export figures, which rose by 22 per cent, from 85,391 units in December 2023 to 104,393 units in December 2024. The two-wheeler segment played a crucial role in this growth, with exports surging by 29 per cent, totalling 96,927 units compared to 75,076 units in the previous year.

In the third quarter of the 2024-25 financial year, TVS reported an 11 per cent increase in two-wheeler sales, achieving sales of 1.18 million units, up from 1.06 million units during the same quarter of the previous year.

In the past year, the manufacturer introduced several new two-wheeler models, including the updated Jupiter 110, the new Apache RR 310, the Raider, and enhanced battery options for the iQube. Additionally, TVS expanded its presence into the French and Italian markets in 2024.
