TVS Motor Company is marking two major milestones for its premium motorcycle brand, TVS Apache: 20 years since the launch of the first Apache model and over 6 million customers across global markets.
Introduced in 2005 with the Apache 150, the motorcycle was TVS’s entry into India’s performance-oriented two-wheeler segment. It aimed to cater to a growing demand for Sportier bikes, offering features that were relatively new to the segment at the time.
TVS Apache: Global presence
Leveraging the motorsport expertise of its internal racing division, TVS Racing, the Apache series has established a significant footprint in more than 60 countries. Notable international markets encompass Nepal, Bangladesh, Colombia, Mexico, and various regions in Africa such as Guinea. Additionally, in recent years, the brand has made inroads into select areas of Europe, including Italy.
TVS Apache: Features innovated
Throughout the years, the TVS Apache has incorporated several pioneering features within its segment, including fuel injection, various ride modes, adjustable suspension, and a slipper clutch.
Additionally, safety enhancements such as dual-channel ABS and dynamic stability control have been implemented, alongside technological advancements like smartphone connectivity, cruise control, and tyre pressure monitoring across various models.
TVS Apache: RTR and RTR Platforms
The brand is offered on two primary platforms: the Apache RTR, designed for street riding, and the Apache RR, which is tailored for track-oriented performance. Both platforms draw inspiration from the company's racing heritage.
Additionally, Apache has distinguished itself as the first Indian two-wheeler brand to introduce a Build-To-Order customization option, enabling customers to personalize their motorcycles directly at the factory.
TVS Apache: Community
Alongside its commitment to product development, TVS has prioritized the establishment of a rider community. This initiative is exemplified by the Apache Owners Group (AOG), which boasts a membership of over 300,000 riders. The company has organized various rides, events, and track-day sessions globally.
As the Apache brand approaches its third decade, TVS Motor Company emphasizes its ongoing dedication to performance, safety, and rider engagement as integral components of its future strategy.
