Suzuki Reveals AllGrip FX AWD Off-Road Version in the Netherlands
12 days ago | 5 Views
The Suzuki Swift, a familiar sight on Indian roads and one of the top-selling vehicles in history, has long been recognized for its nimble handling and compact dimensions suitable for urban driving. Originally intended as a city car, the latest generation has been enhanced by Suzuki's Netherlands division, which has infused it with a notable off-road capability through the Swift AllGrip FX.
A standout feature of the Swift AllGrip FX is its newfound off-road capability. Central to this enhancement is the robust Thule roof rack, which not only provides a secure platform for transporting essential items like a spare tire and snow tracks but also significantly boosts the vehicle's load-carrying capacity.
Suzuki Swift AllGrip FX: Design
In addition to its functionality, the AllGrip FX showcases a subtle yet practical design that enhances its adventurous spirit. It features a seamlessly integrated Tralert LED light bar within the front grille to enhance visibility, while high-gloss black trims around the wheel arches contribute to a rugged appearance. These black accents are further enhanced by the Suzuki emblems and AllGrip decals, creating a cohesive aesthetic for the vehicle.
To add to its practicality, a protective rubber trim on the rear bumper is included. Completing the off-road aesthetic are 196/55R16 all-season tires mounted on standard black alloy wheels, which strike a balance between comfort on paved roads and traction in off-road conditions.
Suzuki Swift AllGrip FX: Interior
Maruti Suzuki Netherlands has focused on enhancing the premium quality and functionality of the Swift's interior. Although the layout remains consistent with the Indian version, the seats are now covered in leather, adding a sophisticated element, while rubber mats facilitate easy cleaning after potential off-road excursions. Furthermore, a Dometic cool box and a storage compartment have been incorporated to increase the vehicle's adaptability for extended journeys and outdoor pursuits.
Suzuki Swift AllGrip FX: Hardware
While all-wheel-drive systems are commonly found in Japan's kei car segment, the Swift stands out as one of the smallest European vehicles equipped with this technology. The AllGrip system provides a significant advantage in low-traction situations. When the front wheels begin to slip, a viscous coupling effectively redistributes power to the rear wheels, enhancing both control and stability.
In contrast to the 2024 Swift available in the Indian market, which underwent significant engine and feature updates while retaining its front-wheel-drive configuration, the European AllGrip FX emphasizes enhanced traction. The Indian Swift is particularly appreciated for its fuel efficiency and suitability for urban driving, highlighting its core strengths in a distinct market context.
Suzuki Swift AllGrip FX: Specs and price
The Swift AllGrip FX is equipped with the same hybrid powertrain found in global variants, featuring a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine combined with a 12V micro-hybrid system, which produces 82 bhp and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. While it may not be considered a powerhouse, this setup is reliable and economical for its intended purpose.
In the Netherlands, the base model of the front-wheel-drive Swift starts at €22,299 (approximately ₹21.65 lakh), while the AllGrip variant is priced higher at €28,449 (around ₹27.62 lakh).
