Steelbird Helmets has introduced the SBH-64 ZIP, a new half-face helmet that meets BIS certification, starting at just ₹999. This helmet comes in over ten color choices and is available in three sizes: M (580mm), L (600mm), and XL (620mm).
Designed for urban riders, it aims to blend safety, comfort, and style into a sleek package. It features a durable ABS shell, a multi-layer EPS core, and a quick-release buckle for easy use. The helmet is BIS (IS 4151:2015) certified and includes various enhancements focused on safety and convenience.
A standout feature is the aerodynamic spoiler at the back, giving it a sportier appearance. Inside, the helmet boasts Italian-designed interiors that are washable, breathable, and have multiple ventilation ports. A neck pad is also included for added comfort during longer rides.
While categorized as a half-face helmet, the SBH-64 ZIP is equipped with an extended polycarbonate visor that provides full facial protection. The design strikes a balance between safety and airflow, making it particularly suitable for city riding. Additionally, a reflector strip at the back improves visibility in low-light conditions.
Steelbird positions this helmet for riders who view their headgear as both a safety essential and a style accessory. However, the company remains committed to ensuring certified protection and rider comfort as their top priority.
Steelbird's growth strategy
Earlier last year, the company announced its intention to roll out 20 new helmet models, featuring a total of 70 different variants. These helmets will cater to a wide range of riders, offering everything from budget-friendly options to high-end choices. Kapur emphasizes that safety will always be the top priority for Steelbird, assuring that every helmet will adhere to the required Indian safety standards.
Additionally, Steelbird's premium line, Ignyte, is set for a significant growth spurt with the launch of 36 new models at the EICMA 2024 motorcycle show. These upscale helmets will be made from carbon fiber and will meet international safety certifications, including DOT (Department of Transportation) and ECE (Economic Commission for Europe), as well as the Indian ISI standard. This strategic initiative aims to help Steelbird gain a substantial foothold in the export market while also enhancing their presence in the domestic arena.
