The Tiguan R-Line maintains the same 1,984cc turbo-petrol engine but has been optimized for enhanced performance, now producing 201 bhp—a 14 bhp increase from its predecessor. Although the torque remains at 320 Nm, the R-Line achieves remarkable acceleration, going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds, a significant improvement over the previous model's time of under 8.5 seconds.
