Skoda Auto India has reported sales of 7,422 units for March 2025. The company marked its 25th anniversary in India and celebrated 130 years in the global automotive market. The sales surge is attributed to the newly launched Kylaq, Slavia, and Kushaq models.

Skoda Kylaq introductory prices

Regarding the Skoda Kylaq, the company has announced an extension of its introductory pricing until the end of April. This model is the most economical option in Skoda's lineup, with the base variant priced at ₹7.89 lakh and the top variant at ₹14.40 lakh, both figures being ex-showroom prices.

The Skoda Kylaq is the third vehicle introduced by the Czech automaker as part of its India 2.0 strategy, following the Kushaq and Slavia. It is noteworthy that the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus are also built on the same platform.

The Kylaq is equipped with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder TSI petrol engine, which is also utilized in other vehicles from the India 2.0 project, including the Skoda Kushaq. However, unlike the Kushaq and Slavia, the Kylaq does not offer the 1.5-liter TSI petrol engine option.

This 1.0-liter petrol engine in the Kylaq generates a peak power of 114 bhp and a maximum torque of 178 Nm. For the higher-end variants, this engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, while the base Classic variant of the sub-compact SUV will be available solely with the manual transmission.

Petr Janeba, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, remarked on the significant sales achievement, stating, “The introduction of the all-new Kylaq marks the beginning of a ‘New Era’ in our journey in India. The sale of 7,422 vehicles in March 2025 reflects the progress we are making and is the outcome of meticulous planning, dedicated efforts, and a strategy focused on making European technology accessible on Indian roads. Customer feedback indicates that the Kylaq offers an outstanding price-value ratio, bringing comfort, space, and safety features from a higher segment into the sub-4-metre SUV category. To further accommodate our customers and celebrate the success of the Kylaq, we have decided to extend the introductory pricing through the end of April.”
