Czech automotive manufacturer Skoda has provided a preview of the forthcoming Enyaq EV, which is set to make its official debut in global markets tomorrow, January 8. The company has released a video showcasing the electric vehicle, highlighting its refreshed design and new features compared to its predecessor. The Enyaq electric SUV, anticipated to arrive in India later this year, was previously introduced through a series of sketches released by Skoda. This model will mark the inaugural electric vehicle from the Skoda-Volkswagen partnership to be launched in the Indian market.
The 2025 Skoda Enyaq EV will embody the manufacturer's Modern Solid design philosophy, featuring an illuminated Tech-Deck front, a revamped exterior colour palette, and slight enhancements in both range and performance. Its design now bears a closer resemblance to the Elroq electric SUV, which was unveiled by the company last year. In this latest version, the Enyaq EV showcases an updated grille and newly designed headlights that are slimmer and interconnected by a black strip. Additionally, the Skoda logo on the bonnet has been modified to appear in letter form. Skoda is expected to offer the EV in three new exterior colour options: Velvet Red, Race Blue, and Energy Blue.
Skoda Enyaq EV: Key expectations
Skoda has indicated that the Enyaq EV's enhanced aerodynamic design will contribute to an improved driving range. However, the company has yet to disclose all technical specifications. The current iterations of the Enyaq EV provide a range between 536 kilometres and 565 kilometres, contingent upon the battery capacity and powertrain configuration.
Skoda has assured that the Enyaq will continue to feature a variety of powertrain options. Anticipations suggest that the electric SUV will be available with a larger battery and extended-range variants. The present models of the Enyaq EV are equipped with a 77 kWh battery paired with a single electric motor, producing 282 bhp, which escalates to 335 bhp in the performance-oriented RS variant of the vehicle.
Skoda Enyaq EV: India launch timeline, rivals
Skoda is expected to present the current iterations of the Enyaq EV at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo, which will commence on January 17 at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. The official introduction of the 2025 Enyaq EV in India is anticipated to occur at a subsequent time. Upon its launch, the Skoda Enyaq EV will compete with models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Tesla Model Y. In the Indian market, competitors for the Enyaq EV will also include the Kia EV6, Volvo C40 Recharge, and BYD Atto 3, among others.
