Bengaluru-based Simple Energy has unveiled the enhanced One electric scooter, featuring new capabilities and an improved range. The 2025 Simple One Gen 1.5 boasts an impressive range of 248 km (IDC) on a single charge, an increase from the previous model's 212 km. This positions it as the longest-range electric scooter currently available in India. Notably, these enhancements are offered at no additional cost, with the Simple One priced at ₹1.66 lakh (ex-showroom).
Simple One Gen 1.5: More Range
The company retains the existing battery configuration, which includes a 3.7 kWh fixed battery pack and a 1.2 kWh removable battery, while optimizing the software to enhance range. The updated model does not feature any visual or mechanical alterations but introduces a refined Eco mode along with improved coasting and braking regeneration to boost efficiency. This optimization has successfully increased the overall range to 248 km, the highest for any electric two-wheeler manufactured in India.
The latest iteration of the One Gen 1.5 introduces a range of software enhancements, including revised ride modes, park assist functionality, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and mobile app integration featuring Bluetooth connectivity, as well as notifications for calls, SMS, and WhatsApp. Additional features encompass built-in navigation through Map My India, riding statistics accessible via the app, customizable dashboard themes, a vehicle locator, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), automatic brightness adjustment, and new auditory alerts.
Simple One Gen 1.5: Specifications
The electric scooter is equipped with the same PMS mid-drive motor, delivering 11.3 bhp and a peak torque of 72 Nm. Other notable features comprise all-LED lighting, a 7-inch digital display, and 30 liters of under-seat storage capacity, among others.
Currently, Simple Energy operates 10 dealerships and has manufactured approximately 2,500 units since commencing operations in May 2023. The company aims to significantly enhance its footprint later this year, with plans for 150 dealerships and 200 service centers across 23 states.
