Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler start-up, Simple Energy, is adopting an assertive approach this year regarding its expansion strategy. The company has revealed its intention to establish 150 new dealerships and 200 service centers in various cities throughout the nation. This marks a significant increase, as the brand currently operates only 10 outlets, primarily situated in five southern states of India.

Simple Energy's forthcoming dealership and service network will extend to major urban centers such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, where the brand will feature its flagship showrooms. The manufacturer aims to pursue aggressive growth in Tier II and III cities while also enhancing its footprint in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Kerala, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and beyond. Presently, Simple Energy's outlets are concentrated in its home city of Bengaluru, along with locations in Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and Kochi.

The Simple Energy product line currently consists of two models: the Dot One and the One, priced at ₹1.46 lakh and ₹1.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), respectively. The company initiated its retail operations in May 2023 with the introduction of the One electric scooter, followed by the more budget-friendly Dot One electric scooter launched the previous year. To date, the brand has reported the delivery of 1,500 units. With electric two-wheeler retail sales experiencing a 33 percent increase, reaching 1.14 million units in the 2024 calendar year, the start-up believes this is an opportune moment to broaden its network.

In discussing the expansion, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy, stated, “We are thrilled to enter this new phase of growth with the establishment of 150 stores and 200 service centers. This initiative is a testament to the significant trust our customers have in us and our offerings. The response to the Simple One over the past year has been remarkable, solidifying its reputation as a technologically sophisticated and reliable option. This expansion aims to provide customers nationwide with convenient access to innovative solutions and a robust service framework, thereby enhancing their ownership experience. With this initiative, we are dedicated to promoting the adoption of two-wheeler electric vehicles in India and establishing new industry standards.”

Both the Simple One and Dot One are developed locally and manufactured at the company’s facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The manufacturer has successfully secured approximately $41 million in Pre-Series A and Series A funding from angel investors and family offices. This new initiative is expected to position Simple Energy competitively within the market, allowing it to rival established electric vehicle manufacturers such as Ather Energy, TVS, Bajaj, and Ola Electric, among others.
