Since its introduction in March 2023, the Shine 100 has rapidly become one of the fastest-growing brands within HMSI’s motorcycle lineup. Furthermore, the company asserts that the Shine 100 has significantly contributed to enhancing Honda’s foothold in the entry-level commuter market.
In this segment, another prominent competitor is the Hero Splendor Plus, which has consistently been a favored choice in the Indian two-wheeler industry. For those considering options in the entry-level commuter category, here is a brief comparison of the Hero Splendor Plus and the Honda Shine 100.

The 2025 Honda Shine 100 is equipped with an OBD-2 compliant 98.98cc engine that generates 7.38 PS at 7,500 RPM and 8.05 Nm of torque at 5,000 RPM. It is paired with a 4-speed gearbox, ensuring smooth power delivery. In contrast, the Hero Splendor Plus features a 97.20cc engine that produces 8.02 PS at 8,000 RPM and 8.06 Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM, also coupled with a four-speed transmission.
