Royal Enfield has introduced the Scram 440 in India, with a starting price of ₹2.08 lakh ex-showroom. This model serves as the successor to the Scram 411, which was derived from the well-known Himalayan. The Scram 440 was unveiled at the Motoverse event last year. In comparison to its predecessor, the Scram 440 features a larger engine, increased power output, additional features, and new colour options.

What powers the Royal Enfield Scram 440?

The motorcycle is equipped with an upgraded 443 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 25.4 bhp and a peak torque of 34 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed transmission. The new engine boasts a bore that is 3 mm larger, resulting in a 4.5 per cent increase in power and a 6.5 per cent increase in torque. The inclusion of a sixth gear is designed to minimize vibrations and enhance fuel efficiency. Additionally, a new pull-type clutch has been introduced, which is said to improve durability and reduce lever effort by approximately 0.75 kg.

What are the features of the Royal Enfield Scram 440?

The Royal Enfield Scram 440 will be available with both spoked rims and alloy wheels, providing the option for tubeless tyres. It features a new LED headlamp, which has been introduced in the latest Royal Enfield motorcycles, although its illumination may not be the most effective. Additionally, the motorcycle is equipped with a switchable anti-lock braking system, a USB charger for mobile device charging, and a Tripper navigation system, along with the same digital-analogue cluster that was present in the previous model.
