The electric two-wheeler market is gradually witnessing the launch of new electric bikes. While electric scooters have traditionally dominated this sector, numerous electric vehicle manufacturers are now venturing into the electric bike segment, particularly targeting commuters. The latest addition to this category is the Revolt RV BlazeX.

This commuter electric bike is comparable to a 125cc internal combustion engine motorcycle and is priced at ₹1.14 lakh, ex-showroom. We recently had the opportunity to test the RV BlazeX on a go-kart track. Here are the findings regarding its real-world range.

Revolt RV BlazeX: Real world range

We evaluated the Revolt RV BlazeX on a go-kart track, primarily utilizing Sport mode. The BlazeX offers three riding modes—Eco, City, and Sport—with claimed ranges of 150 km, 100 km, and 80 km, respectively. Our test ride lasted approximately 2.5 hours, during which we covered around 23 km.

At the start of our ride, the battery was fully charged at 100 percent, indicating a range of 150 km in Eco mode and 80 km in Sport mode, with the odometer showing 3 km. By the conclusion of our session, the odometer read 26 km, the battery level had decreased to 62 percent, and the remaining range was displayed as 49 km. This indicates that the bike utilized 38 percent of its charge to travel 23 km, resulting in an efficiency of 18.68 km/kWh.

Considering the BlazeX is equipped with a 3.24 kWh battery, this equates to a real-world range of approximately 60.5 km in Sport mode. It is important to note that our riding was relatively aggressive on a closed test track, which may have contributed to increased energy consumption. Under typical riding conditions, one can anticipate the range in Sport mode to extend closer to 65 km.

Revolt RV BlazeX: Specs

The Revolt RV BlazeX is equipped with a 3.24 kWh removable battery pack and a 4 kW electric motor. The bike can reach a top speed of 85 km/h, making it suitable for urban commuting as well as occasional highway travel. Charging is efficient, with the battery capable of reaching 80 percent in just 80 minutes when using a DC fast charger.

A complete charge requires 3.5 hours when using a standard home charger. The detachable battery provides added convenience, enabling users to charge it independently at home or in the office.
