
Renault Plans to Introduce 5 New Models by April 2027, Emphasizing Strong Hybrids and Electric Vehicles

Renault India has revealed its intention to introduce five new vehicles over the next three years. The rollout will begin with two next-generation models, followed by two new SUVs built on a fresh platform. Additionally, the lineup will include a new electric vehicle. The first of these new cars is anticipated to be available for purchase in the upcoming months. Renault aims to capture a 5 percent market share in the Indian passenger vehicle segment with these new offerings, which will target the A, B+, and C segments of SUVs.
The company has stated that the launch of new generation and entirely new models is scheduled between April 2025 and April 2027. In addition to the electric vehicle, Renault is also developing robust hybrid powertrains.
On a global scale, the brand introduced seven vehicles in 2025 and twelve in 2024. The group's revenue reached €56.2 billion, with a historic operating profit of €4.3 billion and a free cash flow of €2.9 billion.
This new initiative is termed Renault.Rethink. The company is focused on establishing a refreshed brand identity, which includes enhancing communication, customer interactions, and vehicle models. Renault plans to invest $600 million USD in this endeavor. Currently, the brand operates over 350 touchpoints across India. Furthermore, it has opened its largest design studio outside of France in Chennai. The manufacturing facility has a production capacity of 480,000 units, encompassing both domestic and export markets, although it is not yet operating at full capacity.
Renault Kwid celebrates 10 years in India
The Kwid stands out as one of the brand's most successful offerings, with a price range of ₹4.70 lakh to ₹6.45 lakh, both figures representing ex-showroom costs. Currently, the Kwid is equipped solely with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum power of 68 bhp at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 92.5 Nm, which is available between 4,150 and 4,350 rpm. This engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT option.
The Renault Kwid is available in four distinct variants: RXE, RXL(O), RXT, and Climber. With the exception of the base variant, all other models offer an optional AMT gearbox.
