Hero MotorCorp's electric vehicle division, Vida, is poised to introduce its inaugural electric adventure motorcycle in the near future. Recently, the company secured a patent for the design of this forthcoming electric ADV motorcycle in India, with an anticipated launch in the country projected for late 2025.

At EICMA 2024, Vida presented its Vida Z electric scooter aimed at global markets. However, the origins of the new ADV can be traced back to EICMA 2023, where Hero MotoCorp revealed two electric adventure motorcycle concepts: the Lynx and the Acro. These concepts were intended to demonstrate the company's vision for electric off-road vehicles.

The Lynx is designed as an electric dirt bike for adults, while the Acro appears to cater to a younger audience, serving as a learner's motorcycle. The recent design patent indicates that Vida may be planning to develop the Acro, as the patent image lacks front braking components, aligning with the concept of the Acro.

Vida ADV concept: Additional Information Available

The electric ADV motorcycle is designed with large spoked wheels, a single-seat configuration, and a centrally located electric motor. It includes centre-set footpegs, and the tyres seem to be optimized for off-road performance. Notably, the patent illustration does not depict a rear disc brake.

Additionally, the ADV motorcycle features a raised handlebar and a flat seat to promote an upright riding position. The front suspension appears to utilize height-adjustable USD telescopic forks, complemented by sturdy fork covers, while the rear suspension is handled by a mono-shock system. The removable battery is situated along the spine of the bike, in conjunction with a mid-mounted electric motor that powers the rear wheel through what appears to be a belt drive system.

Vida V2: Specifications, Features, and Pricing

The Vida V2 series of electric scooters has recently been introduced to the market. This new iteration, the Vida V2, serves as an enhanced version of the previous V1 e-scooter lineup and is offered in three distinct variants: Lite, Plus, and Pro. The Vida V2 Lite is priced at ₹96,000, ex-showroom, while the V2 Plus is available for ₹1.15 lakh, and the V2 Pro is priced at ₹1.35 lakh.

Among these, the Vida V2 Lite stands out as the most economical option. It features a 2.2 kWh battery pack, which provides a range of 94 km (IDC) on a single charge. This variant is a new addition to the Vida family, joining the Plus and Pro models. The V2 Lite has a maximum speed of 69 mph and offers two riding modes: Ride and Eco. Its feature set is consistent with the higher-priced variants, including a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display.

The V2 Plus is equipped with a larger 3.44 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 143 km, whereas the V2 Pro boasts an even larger 3.94 kWh battery pack, achieving a maximum range of 165 km on a single charge. Notably, the battery packs in the V2 series are removable and can be charged to 80 per cent in approximately six hours.
