JSW MG Motor has become one of the latest automotive manufacturers in India to declare a price increase across its entire range, effective from January 2025. This British-origin company has joined the ranks of prominent manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor, both of which have also announced price hikes within the past two days. MG Motor indicated that the price adjustments will vary by model, with increases reaching up to three per cent. The company’s current offerings in India include SUVs like the Astor, Hector, and Gloster, as well as electric vehicles such as the ZS EV, Comet EV, and Windsor EV.
Earlier today, on December 6, Maruti Suzuki revealed its own price increase across its lineup, set to take effect in January of the upcoming year. The manufacturer stated that the prices of its vehicles will rise by as much as four per cent, depending on the specific model. Additionally, on Thursday, Hyundai Motor announced a similar price adjustment, with increases of up to ₹25,000 across its vehicle range starting in January.
In a statement regarding the recent price hike, MG Motor explained that the decision was driven by escalating input costs and various external factors. Satinder Bajwa Singh, Chief Commercial Officer at JSW MG Motor, remarked, “Minor price adjustments are necessary to counteract the rising input costs. While we strive to lessen the impact on our customers, a slight increase in prices helps us manage inflationary pressures.”
