JSW MG Motor is preparing for the introduction of its high-end electric sports car, the Cyberster, in India next month. In anticipation of this launch, the manufacturer has released important information regarding this forthcoming electric vehicle from the MG brand. A video showcasing the Cyberster in action has been shared, providing insights into the expected driving experience of the EV. The Cyberster is poised to become the priciest electric vehicle in MG's Indian portfolio, joining models such as the ZS EV, Comet EV, and the newly launched Windsor EV. This electric sports car will be imported, which will influence its pricing. Sales of the Cyberster will be conducted exclusively through new MG Select dealerships. The company has announced plans to establish 12 new luxury showrooms in 12 cities across India. Initially, the availability of the Cyberster is expected to be limited.
MG Cyberster: Design and specifications
In anticipation of its launch in January 2025, MG Motor has disclosed that the upcoming electric vehicle will feature an aerodynamic kammback design, complemented by a front double wishbone suspension and a rear five-link independent suspension system. The MG Cyberster is set to be the first electric vehicle in India equipped with scissor doors. Additionally, it will incorporate dual radar sensors and an anti-pinch mechanism to enhance safety. This open-top sports car measures 4,533 mm in length, 1,912 mm in width, and 1,328 mm in height, with a reported wheelbase of 2,689 mm.
MG Cyberster: Performance, battery, range and top speed
The Cyberster electric sports car is poised to be one of the most formidable electric vehicles in India's premium segment. MG Motor has announced that this model will feature a 77 kWh battery pack, recognized as one of the slimmest available, which contributes to the sleek and athletic design of the Cyberster. This battery is anticipated to provide a range of up to 570 kilometers on a single charge.
Equipped with a dual electric motor configuration on both the front and rear wheels, the Cyberster is expected to deliver an impressive 503 bhp of power along with a remarkable peak torque of 710 Nm. The anticipated top speed of the MG Cyberster is slightly above 200 km/h. Furthermore, the manufacturer has previously indicated that this electric vehicle can accelerate from a complete standstill to 100 km/h in merely 3.2 seconds.
