Porsche revealed the 911 Spirit 70, a special-edition convertible that is heavily inspired by the design aesthetic of the 1970s and early 1980s at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show. Restricted to 1,500 units, the Porsche 911 Spirit 70 is included in the automaker's ongoing Heritage Design strategy that revisits significant periods in the brand's history through limited production cars.
Porsche 911 Spirit 70: Engine and Performance
The 911 Spirit 70 derives from the existing 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet but incorporates a novel performance hybrid configuration. The vehicle is driven by a 3. 6-litre boxer engine, featuring an eTurbo, an electric motor within the PDK transmission, and a high-voltage system. In total, the powertrain generates 534 bhp and 610 Nm of torque.
Although the technical specifications showcase Porsche’s most recent hybrid advancements, the design of the car emphasizes a return to historical elements.
Porsche 911 Spirit 70: Unique colors and special touches
One of the main visual characteristics of the Spirit 70 is its Olive Neo paint finish—a bespoke dark green made specifically for this model. Highlights in Bronzite, a grey-gold shade, are used on the front and rear parts and the ‘Fuchs’-influenced Sport Classic wheels. The black soft top and corresponding windscreen frame provide a visual contrast.Porsche 911 Spirit 70: Inside and what it offers
Inside, the vehicle maintains the nostalgic theme with the Pasha fabric design in black and Olive Neo. This patterned graphic checkerboard was utilized by Porsche during the late 1970s and early 1980s. In the Spirit 70, the design is featured on the seat centers, door inserts, glove compartment, and reversible boot mat. An available interior pack broadens the design to include the dashboard trim and seat backs.
The interior is finished in basalt black club leather with complementary stitching in Olive Neo. The instrumentation aligns with the classic theme as well: the 12. 65-inch display features white pointers, green digits, and a retro-style rev counter layout, echoing early Porsche dashboards. The Sport Chrono stopwatch similarly adheres to this color scheme.
