Porsche Design Tower in Miami Reportedly Sinking: What the Latest Study Reveals
2 hours ago | 5 Views
Miami boasts some of the most opulent residential properties in the United States and indeed, across the globe. The city attracts some of the wealthiest individuals in the nation, and the prestige associated with its residential developments has led luxury and sports car manufacturers to collaborate with developers in creating branded towers. However, there are concerning developments.
A recent study by the University of Miami, as reported by the Miami Herald, indicates that approximately 35 buildings on the upscale Sunny Isles Beach have experienced a subsidence of three inches from 2016 to 2023. This includes the renowned Porsche Design Tower, which opened in 2014. Other notable properties in the area comprise the Ritz-Carlton Residences and two Trump Towers. A particularly alarming fact is that a 12-story residential building located just a few kilometers away collapsed around four years ago.
Since the inauguration of the Porsche Design Tower, various automakers have expressed interest in branded residential projects, leading to the construction of the 818-foot Aston Martin skyscraper nearby, along with collaborations from Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, and Pagani for other developments. Unfortunately, these properties may now also face potential risks.
What is special about Porsche Design Tower?
The Porsche Design Tower, standing at 641 feet, serves as a sanctuary for affluent enthusiasts of the Porsche brand. It comprises 132 residential units, each equipped with summer kitchens, fireplaces, and in-unit garages designed to accommodate the owners' cherished automobiles. This unique feature is facilitated by the Dezervator, an innovative elevator that transports both vehicles and their owners directly to their respective residences.
Moreover, residents have access to car concierge services, which encompass parking and vehicle maintenance.
Additional amenities include a private dining establishment, temperature-controlled wine lockers, a private cinema, an outdoor lounge with ocean views, as well as rooms dedicated to golf and racing simulations.
