Triumph India has announced the introduction of the Speed Triple 1200 RS naked sport motorcycle through its social media channels, targeting the Indian market. This latest iteration of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS boasts an enhanced engine performance and incorporates advanced technology, along with a variety of new colour options. The motorcycle has already been listed on the manufacturer's official website, where it can be personalized with 25 available accessories.

The upcoming naked sport motorcycle is anticipated to be available in three colour variants: Jet Black, a combination of Granite and Diablo Red, and a mix of Granite with Triumph Performance Yellow. The official launch in India is projected to take place by June or July.

Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS: Engine

The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS is equipped with a robust 1160 cc, three-cylinder inline, liquid-cooled engine. This powertrain generates approximately 178 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 128 Nm of torque at 8,750 rpm. While these specifications suggest a machine that thrives on high revs, a definitive assessment can only be made upon experiencing the motorcycle firsthand. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission featuring a wet, multi-plate slipper clutch. Additionally, the gearbox is enhanced with Triumph Shift Assist, which includes a quick-shifter. The distinctive sound is produced by a stainless steel 3 into 1 header system, complemented by an underslung primary silencer and a side-mounted titanium Akrapovic secondary silencer.

Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS: Specifications

The athletic motorcycle is equipped with an Ohlins SmartEC3 semi-active suspension system, providing the rider with total command over their riding experience. It boasts an aluminium twin-spar frame complemented by a bolt-on aluminium rear subframe. This configuration results in a total weight of 199 kg (wet), while the wheelbase of the Speed Triple 1200 RS measures 1445 mm. The seat height is set at 830 mm.

The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS is equipped with a 5-inch optically bonded TFT display, enabling the rider to manage a wide array of available features. These include front wheel lift control with four levels of intervention, engine braking control, and braking slide assist in Track mode. Additionally, the motorcycle offers five dynamic riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport, Track, and Rider. It also includes switchable optimized cornering traction control, cornering ABS, fully adjustable cruise control, and the My Triumph connectivity system, which integrates with smartphones.
