The company has recently introduced the Ola Roadster series of electric motorcycles, marking its inaugural entry into the electric bike sector and positioning itself as one of the most cost-effective electric motorcycles available in the nation.
The Ola Roadster X is designed to compete with models such as the Revolt RV1, targeting established competitors in the internal combustion engine market, particularly within the entry-level category. Notably, the Honda Shine 125 has also undergone a recent update. This analysis will explore how the Ola Roadster X measures up against the Honda Shine 125.
Ola Roadster X vs Honda Shine 125: Price
The Ola Roadster X, which was initially offered at an introductory price range of ₹75,000 to ₹95,000 (ex-showroom), has seen a price adjustment to ₹90,000 to ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) following February 11. This model is available with three distinct battery pack options: 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh.
Previously, the base variant was priced at ₹75,000 (ex-showroom), but it has now been updated to ₹90,000 (ex-showroom). The mid-range variant, equipped with a 3.5 kWh battery pack, is now priced at ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-tier variant, featuring a 4.5 kWh battery pack, is available for ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
In contrast, the 2025 Honda Shine 125 starts at ₹84,493 for the drum variant and is priced at ₹89,245 for the disc variant, both figures being ex-showroom prices in Delhi.
Ola Roadster X vs Honda Shine 125: Specs
The Ola Roadster X electric motorcycle is equipped with three unique battery options, complemented by a 7 kW electric motor. The entry-level model achieves a maximum speed of 105 km/h and is reported to have a range of 117 km on a single charge. The mid-tier variant can attain a top speed of 117 km/h, while the premium variant is designed to reach a maximum speed of 124 km/h. Both of these higher variants are expected to offer ranges of 159 km and 200 km, respectively, when fully charged.
The Honda Shine 125 has been updated to feature an OBD-2B-compliant engine. It retains its 123.94 cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine, which generates 10.6 bhp at 7,500 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 11 Nm at 6,000 rpm, coupled with a 5-speed transmission.
