Ola Electric has unveiled its latest S1 series of electric scooters, which are built on the brand's innovative Gen 3 platform. The launch includes a total of eight models, beginning with the S1 Pro+, followed by the S1 Pro, S1 X, and S1 X+. These scooters will be available with various battery pack options. Additionally, the manufacturer will continue to offer its Gen 2 scooters at discounts of up to ₹35,000.

Ola Gen 3 platform: Enhanced powertrain  

The new powertrain features a mid-drive electric motor across all scooter models. This motor is four times more energy efficient and five times more reliable than the previous hub motor. Furthermore, the new design incorporates the motor control unit (MCU).

Ola Gen 3 platform: Transition to chain drive  

The previous belt drive system has been replaced with a chain drive, resulting in a 2 per cent improvement in energy efficiency and a 10 per cent enhancement in acceleration. The chain is expected to last twice as long as the belt drive, and it will provide higher torque while maintaining a noise level comparable to that of the belt drive.

Ola Gen 3 platform: Brake-by-wire technology  

All scooters utilizing the Gen 3 platform will feature brake-by-wire technology, equipped with a single-channel anti-lock braking system. Some models will also offer a dual-channel anti-lock braking system. The brake-by-wire system contributes to a 15 percent increase in range through brake regeneration, while also extending the lifespan of the brake pads.
