Lexus has unveiled two distinct variants of the LX 500d, appealing to both urban dwellers and adventure seekers. The first variant, the LX 500d Urban, is priced at ₹3 crore and is tailored for an upscale city driving experience, emphasizing luxury and comfort. The second variant, the LX 500d Overtrail, is available at ₹3.12 crore and is specifically designed for off-road enthusiasts, featuring a more robust suspension system and enhanced capabilities for handling diverse terrains. Both variants retain the brand's signature bold and muscular aesthetics, ensuring a commanding presence on the road.

2 Diesel engine and suspension
The 2025 Lexus LX 500d stands out as the sole diesel-powered SUV in Lexus' portfolio, offering a distinctive option within the luxury market. It is equipped with a 3.3-litre V6 twin-turbo diesel engine that generates 304 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 700 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm. This powertrain is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, providing a seamless and responsive driving experience. Furthermore, the SUV is outfitted with Four-wheel drive (4WD) for superior off-road performance, Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) for enhanced handling dynamics, and Active Height Control, which allows the vehicle to adjust its ride height according to varying terrains. Whether navigating highways or rugged landscapes, the LX 500d delivers a powerful and sophisticated driving experience.

3 Safety

Lexus has prioritized safety in its design, and the LX 500d is now outfitted with the Lexus Safety System +3.0. This advanced system features a Pre-Collision System (PCS) that identifies potential collisions and initiates emergency braking. The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) ensures a safe following distance from vehicles in front, while Lane Trace Assist (LTA) and Lane Departure Alert (LDA) work to keep the vehicle properly aligned within its lane. Additionally, the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Safe Exit Assist (SEA) systems notify occupants of oncoming traffic when opening doors, and the Automatic High Beam (AHB) function optimizes headlight performance for enhanced visibility.

4 Technology and features

In terms of technology and features, Lexus has enhanced its Connected Technology. This includes remote vehicle control capabilities such as locking/unlocking, starting/stopping, and window operation via a smartphone. The system also provides SOS emergency alerts and roadside assistance for added safety, along with a Find My Car feature that offers real-time tracking to deter theft, as well as vehicle health monitoring and diagnostic alerts.

5 Interiors

Regarding the interior, while the layout remains consistent, Lexus has incorporated new comfort-oriented features to improve the driving experience. The SUV now includes a front-row seat massager with premium leather upholstery, elevating the cabin's luxurious ambiance.

The front seats feature a 10-way powered driver's seat with lumbar support and adjustable seat cushion length, alongside an 8-way powered front passenger seat equipped with power lumbar support (or Ottoman).
