Nissan Motor India has revealed a preview of its forthcoming seven-seater B-MPV, specifically tailored for the Indian market. The company has announced that this new MPV is set to debut in 2025, marking a significant addition to its product lineup in India.

Notably, during the recent Global Product Showcase Event in Yokohama, Japan, Nissan introduced two new offerings intended for the Indian market. Following the launch of the new MPV, the company plans to release a previously announced five-seater C-SUV (compact sports utility vehicle) in early 2026. This SUV is expected to compete with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Skoda Kushaq, among others. Nissan Motor India has confirmed its commitment to introducing four new products by FY26 for Indian consumers across the B, C, and D-SUV segments.

Upcoming Nissan MPV and Compact SUV design

Drawing inspiration from the renowned Nissan Patrol, the new C-SUV adopts a design that reflects the brand's SUV heritage. This model is expected to embody the hallmark qualities of Nissan's SUVs, including exceptional reliability, superior craftsmanship, and advanced technology. It is designed with high approach and departure angles to effectively navigate Indian road conditions.

In addition, the Nissan B-MPV, built on the same platform, will showcase a robust design that aligns with Nissan's unique aesthetic principles, as announced by the company. It has been crafted to provide comfort for all passengers across every row, without sacrificing the enjoyment of driving.

In a previous discussion with HT Auto, Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, indicated that unlike other C-segment SUVs that offer both five- and seven-seater configurations with similar designs, the two forthcoming Nissan SUVs will present distinct exterior and interior styles to meet varying customer preferences, while still sharing the same foundational structure.

Nissan’s plans for India

Vatsa announced that the C-segment Nissan SUV, which requires an investment of $600 million, will be produced in India and designed for a global market, similar to the Magnite. This five-seater C-SUV will be the second vehicle from the Chennai facility to adhere to the 'One Car, One World' strategy.

Nissan aims to reach an ambitious goal of 100,000 units in annual sales and exports from India. To facilitate this objective, the company plans to manufacture both new models locally at the Alliance joint venture plant in Chennai.
