The Nissan Magnite lineup has now achieved compatibility with E20 fuel. The manufacturer from Japan has confirmed that the 1.0L naturally aspirated BR10 petrol engine that powers the Magnite is now compliant with E20 standards. Additionally, the turbocharged 1.0L petrol engine, which is also utilized in the Nissan Magnite, was previously compatible with E20.

The naturally aspirated engine produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, whereas the turbocharged variant offers 98 bhp and can generate up to 160 Nm of torque. The naturally aspirated model is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). In contrast, the turbocharged engine can be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Notably, while the Magnite is currently equipped solely with petrol engines, there are indications that a new hybrid model may be introduced in the near future. Reports suggest that the company is contemplating the launch of hybrid and CNG variants of the Magnite. Furthermore, the manufacturer has already outlined its intention to enter the electric vehicle market before the conclusion of the fiscal year 2026.

Nissan Magnite: Exports milestone

The Japanese automaker has also announced that the Nissan Magnite has exceeded the milestone of 50,000 units exported since 2020. In January 2025, Nissan Motor India began exporting the Left-Hand Drive (LHD) variant of the New Nissan Magnite, dispatching nearly 2,900 units from Chennai’s Kamarajar Port (KPL - Ennore) to Latin American markets.

Subsequently, in February 2025, over 2,000 units were exported to the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia Pacific regions, along with more than 5,100 units of the LHD New Nissan Magnite to select Latin American markets, culminating in a total shipment of over 10,000 units of the LHD Magnite by the end of February.

Saurabh Vatsa, the Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, announced that the Nissan Magnite has achieved 50,000 units in export sales, signifying its established presence in markets outside of India. This level of export underscores the vehicle's design and engineering excellence. Furthermore, the Magnite's compliance with E20 fuel standards highlights its adherence to contemporary environmental regulations and the advancement of suitable mobility solutions.
