The Nissan Magnite has experienced another price increase, marking the second adjustment in less than two months, resulting in a further rise in cost. Previously, on January 31, the sub-four-meter SUV saw a price increase of up to ₹22,000. Now, the Japanese automaker has implemented an additional price hike of up to ₹4 lakh, raising the starting price of the Magnite to ₹6.14 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV is offered in six variants and twelve color options, along with two engine choices and three transmission configurations.
This latest price increase affects all variants of the Nissan Magnite, which is one of the two passenger vehicles marketed by Nissan in India and serves as a significant revenue generator for the brand in the region. With the new starting price set at ₹6.14 lakh (ex-showroom), the Magnite's price now reaches up to ₹11.92 lakh (ex-showroom).
Recently, Nissan updated the entire Magnite lineup to include an E20-compatible powertrain. The SUV's 1.0-litre naturally aspirated BR10 petrol engine has now become E20 compliant, while the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine had already achieved E20 compliance some time ago.
The Nissan Magnite is equipped with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces a peak power of 71 bhp and a maximum torque of 96 Nm. In contrast, the turbocharged petrol engine offers a peak power of 98 bhp and a maximum torque of 160 Nm. The naturally aspirated variant is available with a choice of a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). Conversely, the turbocharged engine can be paired with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Notably, while the Magnite is currently available exclusively with petrol engines, there are indications that a hybrid model may be introduced in the near future. Reports suggest that the company is contemplating the launch of hybrid and CNG variants of the Magnite. Additionally, the manufacturer has announced intentions to venture into the electric vehicle market before the conclusion of FY26.
