Nissan Introduces Magnite Facelift with Left-Hand Drive in This Market First
1 day ago | 5 Views
The Nissan Magnite, which debuted in India in October 2024, has now made its entrance into the Middle East market. Notably, this region is the first to receive the left-hand-drive (LHD) version of the vehicle. The company has indicated that the Magnite will be introduced to additional markets throughout the region, aligning with Nissan's overarching global strategy of "One Car, One World."
In January 2025, Nissan Motor India began exporting the LHD variant of the Nissan Magnite. The earlier model was sent to 20 countries, while the updated version is expected to reach 65 countries.
The initial shipment of nearly 2,900 units of the LHD Nissan Magnite departed from Chennai’s Kamarajar Port (KPL - Ennore) for Latin American markets in January 2025. Subsequently, in February 2025, over 2,000 units were exported to the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia Pacific regions, along with more than 5,100 units of the LHD New Nissan Magnite to select Latin American markets, culminating in a total shipment of over 10,000 units of the LHD Magnite by the end of February.
Nissan Magnite E20 complaint
In addition to its presence in the export market, the Nissan Magnite received an update in March 2025, which included the compliance of its 1.0L naturally aspirated engine with E20 standards. The turbocharged 1.0L petrol engine, which also powers the Magnite, was already compatible with E20.
The naturally aspirated engine generates 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, while the turbocharged variant delivers 98 bhp and a peak torque of 160 Nm. The naturally aspirated version is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). In contrast, the turbocharged engine offers a choice between a 5-speed manual transmission and a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Notably, while the Magnite is currently equipped solely with petrol engines, there are indications that a new hybrid model may be under development. Reports suggest that the company is considering the introduction of hybrid and CNG variants of the Magnite in the near future. Additionally, the company has expressed its commitment to entering the electric vehicle market by the conclusion of FY26.
