Nissan Expands Reach: Magnite Now Exported to Left-Hand Drive Markets

Nissan, the Japanese automobile manufacturer, has initiated the export of left-hand drive versions of the Magnite. The inaugural shipment, consisting of 2,900 units of the LHD Nissan Magnite, departed from Chennai via the Kamarajar Port (KPL - Ennore), India, destined for select markets in the Latin American region. During the launch of the 2024 Nissan Magnite, the company highlighted its intention to enhance its presence not only in India but also in international markets.

Looking ahead to February 2025, Nissan Motor India plans to export over 7,100 units of the Magnite to various markets in the Middle East, North Africa, and select regions in Latin America and the Asia Pacific. By the end of February, the company aims to achieve a total export figure exceeding 10,000 units of the LHD version of the new Nissan Magnite.

Nissan has indicated that the introduction of the left-hand drive versions of the Nissan Magnite to global markets emphasizes India's significant role as a key manufacturing and export hub for the company. Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President of AMIEO Region Business Transformation and President of Nissan India Operations remarked that the Nissan Magnite has been instrumental in the company's achievements in both domestic and international markets.

New Nissan Magnite coming soon?

The 2024 Nissan Magnite was introduced in October 2024. A recent report indicates that the company is likely to release hybrid and CNG variants of the Magnite shortly. Sources have informed PTI that all previously announced plans by the company remain on schedule, which encompasses the introduction of two mid-size SUVs and one electric SUV. The mid-size SUV lineup will feature both a five-seater and a seven-seater model.

The individual also mentioned that the company is contemplating additional measures to enhance growth in the near term. He stated, "We are evaluating various powertrains to incorporate into our vehicles, such as hybrid and CNG options. The electric vehicle has already been announced, and we expect to launch it before the conclusion of FY26."
