Hyundai has initiated the testing phase for the new generation Venue in India. This updated sub-compact SUV is anticipated to be launched later this year. Recent sightings of the test mule on the roads have unveiled several details regarding its features. The new generation Hyundai Venue will showcase various modifications, including changes to both its exterior design and interior cabin layout.
The sub-compact SUV segment represents one of the most competitive and sought-after categories in the Indian passenger vehicle market. Manufacturers such as Tata Motors, Hyundai, Renault, Nissan, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Skoda have established their presence in this arena. With the updated Venue, Hyundai aims to enhance its position in this segment, intensifying competition with models like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Skoda Kushaq, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
2025 Hyundai Venue: Key expectations
The camouflaged prototype of the new generation Hyundai Venue suggests that the updated version of this sub-compact SUV will feature new horizontal taillights and redesigned wheel covers for the steel wheels. In addition to these noticeable changes, the new generation Venue is expected to include a set of new headlamps equipped with LED projector units and integrated LED daytime running lights. Furthermore, enhancements will likely include a refreshed radiator grille, updated front and rear bumpers, a new design for the alloy wheels, and a modified tailgate.
Inside the cabin, the new generation Hyundai Venue is projected to offer a reimagined dashboard layout. Additional features may include a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and new upholstery, among other improvements.
The second generation of the Hyundai Venue will be equipped with the same powertrain options as its predecessor, featuring a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission choices will encompass a five-speed manual transmission, a six-speed manual transmission, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. In summary, the engine and transmission configurations from the existing model will be retained in the new generation Venue.
