Audi has officially announced that the sixth-generation A6 luxury sedan will make its global debut on April 15. The renowned German automaker has provided a glimpse of the new Audi A6 sedan ahead of its launch, showcasing a preview of the vehicle's rear profile design. This unveiling will follow the introduction of the Audi A6 Avant, the estate variant, which debuted last month.

The teaser image highlights a portion of the rear glass and suggests a compact rear deck for the boot lid, reminiscent of the Audi A6 e-tron Sportback, indicating that the new Audi A6 sedan will feature a four-door coupe-like silhouette. The taillight design will remain largely consistent with that of the Avant, characterized by a split configuration with the primary stop light positioned above a light bar. However, the internal design of the tail lamps appears to differ slightly from the Avant, and they are expected to incorporate customizable lighting signatures enabled by OLED technology.

The sixth-generation Audi A6 sedan will retain many design elements from the Audi A6 Avant, which was revealed in March 2025, while also introducing several unique styling features. Notable design distinctions will be evident in the roofline, with the sedan exhibiting more pronounced three-box proportions. Additional design characteristics will include an enlarged Audi grille, angular headlights, flared fenders, prominent rear haunches, and flush-fitting door handles.

Inside, the new Audi A6 sedan is anticipated to maintain a largely familiar layout, although it may feature a redesigned dashboard accommodating up to three displays. It is expected to incorporate similar technologies as the A6 Avant, including a spacious panoramic glass roof, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), adaptive air suspension, and more.

Regarding the powertrain, the new Audi A6 sedan will offer the same engine options as the A6 Avant, featuring a selection of mild-hybrid four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

Audi has not revealed any timeline for the launch of the new generation A6 sedan in India. However, expect the new-generation luxury sedan to come to the Indian market sometime in 2026.
