Skoda Auto has officially introduced the 2025 Enyaq EV to the global market, featuring several enhancements compared to its predecessor. This latest iteration of the electric vehicle from the Czech manufacturer boasts a refreshed design, improved aerodynamics, and an extended range, along with a variety of new features. Additionally, it is slightly larger than the original Enyaq EV, which was first launched in 2021. The 2025 Enyaq EV is set to debut in European markets initially, with its introduction in India anticipated later this year.
The Skoda Enyaq EV has emerged as one of the top-selling electric vehicles in Europe, with over 250,000 units sold within three years of its release. The vehicle was first presented in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo last year. In the global market, it competes with models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volkswagen ID.4, and Tesla Model Y. Upon its launch in India, it is expected to face competition from electric vehicles like the Kia EV6, Volvo C40 Recharge, and BYD Atto 3, among others.
Skoda Enyaq EV facelift: Enhanced dimensions, revitalized aesthetics
The mid-life refresh of the Enyaq EV represents a significant enhancement rather than a simple cosmetic update. The manufacturer has expanded the dimensions of the electric SUV, which is available in both Coupe and standard configurations. The vehicle now measures 4,658 mm in length, 1,879 mm in width, and 1,622 mm in height. Alongside the increase in length, the height has also risen by approximately two millimetres. The Enyaq EV features a wheelbase of 2,765 mm and is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, with the option to upgrade to 21 inches depending on the selected variant.
The 2025 Enyaq EV exemplifies Skoda’s Modern Solid Design philosophy. It bears some resemblances to the recently introduced Elroq EV from the Czech automaker. The front design of the electric vehicle has been streamlined, featuring a glossy black Tech-Deck face with integrated sensors, dark chrome Skoda lettering replacing the traditional logo on both the bonnet and tailgate, as well as LED Matrix headlights and daytime running lights. Additionally, the rear has seen updates to the LED taillights and bumper.
Skoda Enyaq EV facelift: Enhanced range, larger battery capacity, improved aerodynamics
Skoda has made significant improvements to the performance of the Enyaq EV in its latest version. Previously, the vehicle was available with three battery options: 52 kWh, 58 kWh, and 77 kWh, boasting a maximum range of up to 510 kilometres on a single charge. The company has now introduced two additional battery choices: a 63 kWh and an 82 kWh pack. The smaller 63 kWh battery is said to provide a range of up to 439 kilometres, while the larger 82 kWh battery offers an impressive range of up to 597 kilometres. Skoda attributes part of this enhanced range to the improved drag coefficient of the Enyaq, which has decreased from 0.264 to 0.245.
The batteries are capable of supporting DC fast charging with a peak capacity of 175 kW. According to Skoda, the batteries can be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in under 30 minutes when using a fast charger.
The Enyaq EV will be available with both single and dual electric motor configurations, featuring rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. The power output varies between 201 bhp and 281 bhp, while the torque ranges from 310 Nm to 545 Nm, depending on the variant. The top speed of the Enyaq EV is limited to 180 km/h, and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds.
