Citroen India has recently shared a teaser on its social media channels featuring the Citroen C3, Citroen Basalt, and Citroen C3 Aircross, all presented in a 'Dark Edition.' This trio of SUVs is set to launch in the Indian market with a dark aesthetic in the near future. As is typical with dark editions, these vehicles will primarily showcase visual modifications rather than any changes to their mechanical components.

The teaser highlights various blacked-out features across the three models, including badges, air vents, seats, dashboard elements, and the grille, among others. Additionally, the manufacturer previously released a teaser focused on the Basalt dark edition, providing insights into the forthcoming coupe-SUV. It is anticipated that the other models will receive a similar design approach.

Citroen Basalt Dark Edition: Interior and tech

Based on the imagery presented in earlier teasers, the Basalt Dark Edition is likely to exhibit a dark aesthetic, characterized by entirely black interiors and coordinating upholstery. It is expected that the Basalt will retain its original interior configuration, albeit in a black color scheme. Consequently, the dashboard will feature a cohesive black design, replacing the earlier beige and bronze palette. The air conditioning controls are projected to have a dark chrome finish. Regarding features, no changes are expected.

The Basalt is fitted with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in addition to automatic climate control. Safety provisions consist of six standard airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a rear parking camera with sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It is anticipated that all these features will continue to be included.

Citroen Basalt Dark Edition: Engine and performance

The Citroen Basalt Dark Edition is expected to be available solely in the highest specification variant, featuring a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 109 bhp. Buyers can select between a 6-speed manual transmission, which offers 190 Nm of torque, and a torque converter automatic transmission that provides 205 Nm of torque. The manual variant achieves a fuel efficiency of 19.5 kmpl, while the automatic version is rated at 18.7 kmpl.
