Supercars and hypercars have consistently left their mark on various art forms. The Pagani Zonda, an iconic supercar, has also made its contribution in this regard. Recently, images of a unique Pagani Zonda supercar have emerged online, showcasing the hypercar adorned with 100,000 golden coins and a depiction of Lionel Messi. This distinctive art car was presented at the Art Basel event held in Miami, United States.
This exceptional art installation, inspired by the Pagani Zonda, was commissioned by a notable car collector. It is constructed using 100,000 golden coins, which are held together by over 500,000 weld points. The artwork is reported to weigh approximately 1,250 kg, comparable to that of an actual Pagani Zonda hypercar. Many of the coins have been shaped to reflect the curves and design features of the Pagani Zonda. Additionally, the wheels and tires are also crafted from coins.
Designed by Uruguayan artist Joaquin Arbiza, this piece serves as a full-scale replica of the Pagani Zonda F and is entirely made from Uruguayan pesos. The artist asserts that the creation of this Zonda-inspired artwork took three years, a duration exceeding that required by the manufacturer to produce one of the V12-powered hypercars. Notably, several of the 100,000 coins at the front have been painted black and arranged to form a portrait of Lionel Messi, indicating that both the artist and the owner of this unique Zonda-inspired art car are ardent admirers of the legendary Argentinian footballer.
The Pagani Zonda is widely regarded as one of the most celebrated and intriguing hypercars globally. It is powered by a 7.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, which offers a variety of transmission options. The mid-engine sports car made its debut at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. The Zonda F, or Zonda Fangio, which inspired the art car, was named in honor of Formula One driver Juan Manuel Fangio and was unveiled at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show.
