McLaren Automotive has achieved a significant sales milestone, having sold 50 vehicles since its entry into the Indian market. The brand officially launched in India in 2022 and has recorded a commendable number of sales since then. Although 50 units may appear modest, it is important to note that McLaren's most affordable supercar in India starts at a price of ₹4.5 crore.

To commemorate this notable sales achievement, McLaren organized a celebratory drive from Udaipur to Mount Abu and back for its clientele. The event was inaugurated by Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar at the historic Manak Chowk.

The McLaren 720S and its successor, the 750S, have emerged as the most popular models for the brand in India. Additionally, McLaren has disclosed that the 765LT and the limited-production 750S 60th Anniversary Edition have also gained traction in the Indian market. Notably, only 60 units of the McLaren 750S 60th Anniversary will be manufactured worldwide.

In comparison to other supercar manufacturers such as Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Lamborghini, McLaren is relatively new to the Indian automotive landscape. The brand does not offer mainstream vehicles like super SUVs or sedans, which are commonly available from its competitors.

Regarding this milestone, Lalit Choudary, Dealer Principal of McLaren Mumbai, expressed, “We are delighted to mark the sale of over 50 McLarens in India, which reflects the increasing passion and enthusiasm for our brand in this region. This accomplishment highlights the confidence and excitement our customers have in McLaren’s exceptional engineering and design. We take pride in having cultivated a dynamic community of supercar aficionados throughout the country and eagerly anticipate the continuation of this journey. With 2025 set to be another promising year for McLaren in India, we are enthusiastic about the prospects of enhancing the supercar experience for our clientele.”

On the topic of growth in India, Robert Holtshausen, Market Director for the Middle East, India & Africa at McLaren Automotive, stated, “India represents a crucial market with significant potential for McLaren. The swiftly increasing population of young, affluent consumers, coupled with a strong appetite for innovation and performance, creates an exhilarating environment for our brand. The milestone drive was a moment of pride, as it enabled us to celebrate this achievement with our dedicated customers and demonstrate McLaren’s unmatched driving experience. We remain devoted to providing world-class experiences and look forward to advancing our journey in India.”

McLaren has also been prompt in introducing its new supercars to the Indian market following their global launches. Last year, the automaker broadened its lineup with the Artura and 750S hybrid supercars, which were made available shortly after their global unveilings. For high-net-worth individuals choosing McLaren’s supercars, exclusivity is a crucial factor influencing their purchase decisions. These owners are also enthusiasts who prioritize unfiltered driving dynamics over other considerations.
