1 Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki is set to make its debut in the Indian electric vehicle market in 2025. The company, which currently dominates the Indian passenger vehicle sector but has yet to venture into electric vehicles, is preparing to launch the e Vitara, marking one of the most significant car introductions in the country this year. The e Vitara is expected to be unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This model is the production version of the Maruti Suzuki eVX concept, which was presented at the Auto Expo 2023. The forthcoming e Vitara will be constructed on the Heartect-e platform, specifically designed for electric vehicles. The Suzuki e Vitara will be available globally with two battery pack options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh.

The Hyundai Creta EV is anticipated to be another significant addition to the Indian passenger vehicle market in 2025. This model will represent an all-electric version of the highly popular Hyundai Creta SUV. The design of the Creta EV will closely resemble that of the Creta ICE. It will be offered with two powertrain configurations: a 42 kWh battery pack that provides a range of 390 kilometers and a 51.4 kWh battery pack that extends the range to 473 kilometers.

Tata Motors is preparing to expand its electric vehicle portfolio with the introduction of the Tata Harrier EV, which will join the existing lineup that includes the Nexon EV, Punch EV, and Curvv EV, among others. The Tata Harrier EV was previously revealed in concept form at the Auto Expo. The automaker is now expected to launch the production-ready version in 2025. In addition to the Harrier EV, Tata Motors may also unveil the production variant of the Safari EV, along with the Sierra EV, which was showcased in concept form earlier.

The Czech manufacturer, which is leading Volkswagen AG's expansion in India, is anticipated to launch the Enyaq electric vehicle in the country this year, following its initial introduction earlier this year.
5. The Chinese automotive company BYD has secured patents for the designs of the BYD Bao 3, an all-wheel-drive electric off-roader. This electric SUV is projected to debut in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The Bao 3 is developed by BYD’s off-road-oriented subsidiary, Fangchengbao, and is based on the Super 3 concept vehicle. It will be positioned above the Atto 3 in the lineup. The Bao 3 features dual electric motors, with each motor driving one axle, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 201 km/h.
