Maruti e Vitara Set to Launch: Five Key Features That Could Outshine Hyundai Creta Electric

1 month ago | 5 Views

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, the first electric vehicle from India’s biggest car manufacturer, is gearing up for its launch. Even though it’s joining the electric passenger vehicle scene a bit late, Maruti is aiming to take the lead with this electric SUV.

The e Vitara will compete in the popular compact SUV segment, which already has a variety of options at different price points. One of its main competitors will be the Hyundai Creta Electric, which hit the market earlier this year with prices starting at ₹18 lakh and going up to ₹23.50 lakh, ex-showroom. While Maruti hasn’t revealed too many specifics about the e Vitara yet, there are some exciting features expected that the Hyundai Creta Electric doesn’t offer.

Electric vehicle platform designed from the ground up

One big difference between the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and the Hyundai Creta Electric is that the Maruti will be built on a special electric vehicle platform, while the Creta Electric is based on a heavily tweaked internal combustion engine platform. This setup means the e Vitara will likely have a flat floor, which could lead to more room inside the cabin.

18-inch alloy rims

The Maruti e-Vitara is likely to outshine the Hyundai Creta Electric in terms of wheel size. It’s set to sport bigger 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, which will definitely boost its look and road presence. On the flip side, the Hyundai Creta Electric will have smaller 17-inch wheels that focus more on being aerodynamically efficient.

Improved sound system

The Maruti e-Vitara is likely to feature a top-notch 10-speaker Infinity sound system, setting it apart from the Hyundai Creta Electric, which has an 8-speaker Bose audio system. Both electric SUVs aim to deliver a great audio experience, but the extra speakers in the e-Vitara could offer a fuller sound and a more engaging listening experience for everyone inside.

Improved safety features

Hyundai and Maruti are both stepping up their game by adding high-end safety features to their electric SUVs. The Maruti e-Vitara is particularly impressive as it’s the brand’s first vehicle to come with Level 2 ADAS, which boosts driving safety significantly. What really makes the e-Vitara shine is that it comes with seven airbags as standard, offering extra protection. On the other hand, the Hyundai Creta Electric includes six airbags as standard. This gives the e-Vitara a bit of an edge when it comes to keeping passengers safe, making it a great choice for those who value advanced safety features.

Larger battery boasting an increased range

The Maruti e-Vitara and Hyundai Creta Electric both offer two different battery pack choices, giving you options for performance and range. The e-Vitara has 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs, while the Creta Electric features 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh options. When it comes to range, the e-Vitara takes the lead with more than 500 km for its bigger battery, while the Creta Electric maxes out at 473 km.
