1 Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Power and Range
The e Vitara will be available worldwide with two battery pack choices: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. Maruti Suzuki has not confirmed whether both options will be offered to Indian consumers, and while the exact range remains unspecified, it is anticipated that the vehicle will achieve approximately 400 km on a single charge. The 49 kWh battery is exclusively offered in the 2WD variant, expected to generate 142 bhp and 189 Nm of torque. In contrast, the 61 kWh battery is capable of producing 172 bhp and 189 Nm of torque in the 2WD configuration, while the 4WD variant delivers 300 Nm of torque. Suzuki has highlighted that the powertrain features a highly efficient eAxle, which integrates the motor and inverter with lithium-iron-phosphate batteries.
2 Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Platform
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is constructed on a newly developed platform known as HEARTECT-e. Maruti Suzuki asserts that this platform has been specifically engineered for battery electric vehicles. It features a lightweight structure with high-voltage safety measures and minimal overhang, which contributes to a more spacious interior. Additionally, Suzuki indicates that the removal of underfloor components from the main floor of the platform has led to an increase in battery capacity.
3. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Electric 4WD
The e Vitara is anticipated to possess off-road capabilities due to its electric 4WD system, distinguishing Maruti Suzuki from its rivals. This system, referred to as the ALLGRIP-e, includes two separate axles located at the front and rear, ensuring enhanced control and responsiveness. Additionally, the 4WD system features a Trail Mode, which allows the e Vitara to navigate challenging terrains. In this mode, the vehicle applies brakes to spinning wheels and reallocates torque in the opposite direction.
4. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Dimensions
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height. It boasts a wheelbase of 2,700 mm and is equipped with either 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant. The vehicle offers a ground clearance of 180 mm and has a turning radius of 5.2 meters.
5 Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Launch
According to announcements from Maruti Suzuki, the e Vitara is expected to enter production in the Spring of 2025. This all-electric SUV will initially be introduced in India, with manufacturing occurring at the Suzuki Motor Gujarat facility, which will serve both domestic and international markets. Upon its launch, this facility will be dedicated solely to the e Vitara and all subsequent electric vehicle models from the company.
