Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Gears Up: Pre-Bookings Begin Ahead of Anticipated Launch

2 days ago | 5 Views

Maruti Suzuki is preparing to introduce its inaugural electric vehicle, the e Vitara, which was presented in a production-ready format at the Auto Expo 2025. Pre-bookings for the electric SUV have now begun, signaling an upcoming launch. It is anticipated that Maruti Suzuki will officially release the e Vitara either later this month or in May 2025.

Upon its release, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will face stiff competition from notable rivals such as the Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Nexon EV, among others. The manufacturer has announced that the e Vitara will be available through its premium retail network, Nexa. Customers can choose from two battery pack options and three variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. Additionally, the e Vitara will be the brand's first model equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a fully digital instrument cluster, and several other premium features.

While numerous mass-market automakers, including Hyundai, Tata Motors, MG, and Mahindra, have already launched their electric vehicles, Maruti Suzuki has yet to enter this segment, despite being the largest automaker in India by sales volume. Nevertheless, the company has expressed confidence that, despite its late entry, the e Vitara will position itself as a leading contender in the electric vehicle market.

With the e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki is adopting a top-down strategy in the Indian electric vehicle sector, a tactic that has already been employed by competitors like Mahindra.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Key facts

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be the brand's first vehicle to feature Level 2 ADAS, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a range of high-end amenities, including a panoramic glass roof, automatic climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting, an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, a 360-degree surround view camera, a power-adjustable driver's seat, ventilated front seats, and a second-row seating arrangement with sliding and reclining capabilities, along with seven airbags for enhanced safety.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will feature a front-wheel-drive setup. The choice of battery pack will vary based on the specific variant. The Delta variant will be equipped with a 48.8 kWh battery, while the Zeta and Alpha variants will offer a more substantial 61.1 kWh battery pack. All three variants will support 7 kW AC charging and 70 kW DC fast charging capabilities.
