Maruti Suzuki is fully prepared to introduce the e Vitara in both the Indian and export markets. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara was initially presented to Indian audiences at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 held in New Delhi. As Maruti Suzuki's first all-electric SUV, it attracted significant attention at the event.

During a recent press conference, R. C. Bhargava, the Chairman of Maruti Suzuki, stated that the e Vitara deliveries will commence in India by September 2025. Company officials also notified the press that the manufacturer aims to produce approximately 70,000 EV units this year. Among the planned 70,000 units, the majority will be allocated for export markets. The remaining units will be available domestically to evaluate the Indian market based on demand.

The SUV's launch is expected to take place around May or June. Maruti Suzuki has also confirmed that it does not intend to sell electric vehicles through specialized dealerships and will utilize its existing capacity for sales.

A new SUV is on the way

In subsequent discussions, Chairman R. C. Bhargava also confirmed that Maruti Suzuki will introduce another SUV to its lineup later this year. Numerous reports have indicated that the seven-seater variant of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been observed undergoing testing on Indian roads. This forthcoming SUV may potentially be the seven-seater Grand Vitara.

In the spy images, the Grand Vitara seven-seater was spotted featuring a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system that will support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additional modifications are also anticipated in the interior of the Grand Vitara seven-seater, including a slightly reworked dashboard along with a new color option and possibly new upholstery.

Every Maruti car comes with six airbags

At the conference, the representatives also declared that every Maruti Suzuki vehicle will come equipped with six airbags as standard by the conclusion of the year. Recently, the manufacturer has incorporated this safety feature into the MY2025 Grand Vitara and the MY2025 WagonR as well.
