India's leading automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, is poised to raise the prices of its passenger vehicles starting April 8. This upcoming price increase marks the third adjustment by the company in 2025, following two prior hikes in January and February of this year. The price adjustments for various models will range from ₹2,500 to ₹62,500. Earlier, the company had announced a price increase of up to ₹32,500 for several models effective February 1.

Maruti Suzuki disclosed this latest price hike last month, attributing the decision to factors such as escalating input costs, rising operational expenses, changes in regulations, and the addition of new features. In a regulatory filing, the company emphasized its commitment to cost optimization and minimizing the impact on customers, but acknowledged the necessity of passing some of the increased costs onto the market.

Maruti Suzuki price hike: Which model to be costlier

Maruti Suzuki has announced a range of price increases for its various vehicle models. The adjustments will differ across models, with increases ranging from ₹2,500 to ₹62,500. Specifically, the price of the compact SUV Fronx, which is derived from the premium hatchback Baleno, will rise by ₹2,500. The Dzire Tour S, the cab variant of the sub-compact sedan, will see an increase of ₹3,000. In contrast, the MPVs, including the XL6 and Ertiga, will experience a price hike of ₹12,500.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, recognized as one of the top-selling hatchbacks in India, achieved the status of the brand's best-selling vehicle in the last financial year (FY25), concluding on March 31, with sales totaling 198,451 units. Starting April 8, the price of this tall hatchback will increase by ₹14,000, while the Maruti Suzuki Eeco van will see a rise of ₹22,500.

Additionally, the premium SUV Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will become more expensive by ₹62,000 from April 8, marking it as the model with the highest price increase within the automaker's lineup of passenger vehicles.
