Maruti Suzuki vehicles in India are poised for another price increase. The car manufacturer has announced in a regulatory filing that its range of passenger vehicles will experience a price rise, effective from April 2025. This marks the third price adjustment by the brand within this year. In January 2025, Maruti Suzuki implemented a four percent increase, followed by another price hike in February. The most recent adjustments have seen price increases ranging from one percent to four percent across various models.
The company has cited escalating input costs and operational expenses as the reasons for the upcoming price hike scheduled for April 2025. However, Maruti Suzuki has not disclosed specific details regarding which models will be affected or the extent of the price increases for each. It is anticipated that the variations in price hikes will depend on the specific models.
Maruti Suzuki slaps third price hike in three months in 2025
Maruti Suzuki implemented a four percent increase in the prices of its passenger vehicles in January of this year, attributing the rise to escalating input costs driven by the high prices of raw materials. The original announcement regarding the price adjustment was made in December of the previous year, with the new pricing taking effect in January. Subsequently, in February, Maruti Suzuki again raised the prices of several models, with increases ranging from ₹1,500 to ₹32,500, depending on the specific model. The company cited factors such as rising global commodity prices, elevated import duties on raw materials, and disruptions in the supply chain as reasons for this additional price hike.
In its most recent regulatory filing regarding the price increase, Maruti Suzuki emphasized its ongoing efforts to optimize costs and reduce the impact on customers. The company acknowledged that a portion of the increased costs may need to be transferred to the market.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers a range of models, including the Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Celerio, Wagon R, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, Dzire, Fronx, Brezza, Ertiga, Ciaz, Grand Vitara, XL6, Jimny, and the Invicto. It is anticipated that all these models will experience a price increase in the forthcoming adjustment.
