
Maruti Suzuki Achieves 22.34 Lakh Sales in FY25, UV Segment Grows 12%

Maruti Suzuki India, a prominent automobile manufacturer in India, reported total sales of 2,234,266 units for the financial year 2024-25. This figure represents a 4.63 percent increase compared to the previous year's cumulative production of 2,135,323 units. The company's domestic retail sales experienced a slight rise of 0.05 percent, reaching 1,760,767 units, up from 1,759,881 units in the prior year.
Notably, while the passenger car segment, which includes models such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Dzire, Swift, and Ciaz, experienced a decline of 7.7 percent year-on-year, totaling 904,909 units, the utility vehicle segment, featuring models like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Brezza, and Fronx, saw a significant increase of 12.12 percent year-on-year, achieving 720,186 units.
Additionally, Maruti Suzuki exceeded the three lakh mark in exports during the year, shipping 332,585 units in FY25 compared to 283,067 units the previous year, reflecting a growth of 17.49 percent year-on-year. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, noted that the company accounted for 43 percent of the nation's total vehicle exports, solidifying its position as the leading exporter of passenger vehicles.
Throughout the year, Maruti Suzuki also initiated exports of the Fronx and Jimny 5-door models to Japan. The top five export markets for the company included South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Japan, and Mexico.
Maruti Suzuki March 2025 sales
In the final month of the financial year, the automaker recorded total sales of 192,984 units, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 3.09 percent from the 187,196 units sold in March 2024. The company indicated that it retained 79,237 units of compact cars in the domestic market for the month, which marks a year-on-year decline of 3.67 percent.
Conversely, the utility vehicle (UV) segment experienced a year-on-year growth of 4.55 percent, reaching 61,097 units. Maruti Suzuki's overall domestic sales for March 2025 amounted to 150,743 units, representing a decrease of 1.5 percent compared to the same month last year.
Regarding exports, the company achieved a significant year-on-year increase of 27.3 percent, with total exports reaching 32,968 units in March 2025, up from 25,892 units exported during the corresponding period last year.
