The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is among the most anticipated electric sub-compact SUVs in India, currently in development. The vehicle is undergoing road testing, and recent spy photographs of its prototypes have emerged online, providing insights into the design and features of this electric SUV.

Upon its release, the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is expected to play a significant role in the company's electric vehicle strategy, which has already seen the launch of models such as the XEV 9e and BE 6 late last year. The internal combustion variant of the XUV 3XO was introduced in India several months ago, representing an updated version of the Mahindra XUV 300. Since that time, there has been considerable speculation regarding the forthcoming electric variant of this SUV.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV: What to expect

The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV closely resembles its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. Nevertheless, it features design elements tailored for electric vehicles. Notably, it has a closed panel replacing the traditional grille and an updated air dam. At the rear, modifications include a redesigned tailgate and a revised rear bumper. Additionally, the XUV 3XO EV showcases rose gold accents on both sides of its rear profile, and it may also be equipped with newly designed alloy wheels featuring aerodynamic inserts.

Another important design aspect is the placement of the charging port, which will be situated on the left front fender. While the interior details of the SUV remain undisclosed, it is anticipated that the XUV 3XO EV will incorporate design features similar to those of the ICE version, along with specific modifications for electric vehicles.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is likely to utilize the 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh battery packs from the existing Mahindra XUV 400. Currently, these battery options offer a range of 375 km and 456 km, respectively, on a single charge. It remains to be seen what enhancements Mahindra will implement in the powertrain of the forthcoming XUV 3XO EV.
