Mahindra & Mahindra has recently begun the delivery of its BE 6 (previously known as BE 6e) and XEV 9e electric SUVs, successfully distributing 3,000 vehicles to customers over the past few days. Both the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 are experiencing significant demand, leading the company to announce that the waiting period for these models may extend up to six months in certain regions of the country.

Mahindra reports that the XEV 9e is the preferred option, accounting for 59 percent of total demand, whereas the BE 6 meets 41 percent of the demand. Additionally, a significant number of customers are choosing the high-end Pack Three variant for both models. The SUV manufacturer has indicated that it is focused on increasing the delivery capacity for these new electric SUVs in response to the rising demand. Together, the XEV 9e and BE 6 have garnered a total of 30,179 bookings, amounting to ₹8,472 crore.

Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e Specifications

The all-electric Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 models are offered with two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh, both supplied by BYD. The power is delivered to the rear wheels through an electric motor mounted on the rear axle, producing 228 bhp for the 59 kWh variant and 282 bhp for the 79 kWh variant. Both models generate a peak torque of 380 Nm. The Mahindra XEV 9e accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, while the more performance-oriented BE 6 achieves this in just 6.7 seconds.

Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e Range

Mahindra asserts that the XEV 9e, equipped with a 59 kWh battery, has an ARAI-certified range of 542 km, whereas the 79 kWh battery variant provides a range of 656 km. In comparison, the BE 6 delivers 557 km with the 59 kWh battery and 683 km with the 79 kWh option on a single charge. Both SUVs have achieved a five-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The starting price for the BE 6 is ₹18.90 lakh, while the XEV 9e begins at ₹21.90 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
