Mahindra XEV 9e: Pack Two or Pack Three – Which One Offers Better Value?
2 months ago | 5 Views
The Mahindra XEV 9e was introduced in November 2024, with a starting price of ₹21.90 lakh, ex-showroom, for the entry-level Pack One variant. Subsequently, in January 2025, the manufacturer disclosed the pricing for the top-tier variant, Pack Three, which is set at ₹30.50 lakh, ex-showroom. Recently, Mahindra has unveiled the complete pricing structure for the XEV 9e.
In contrast to the Mahindra BE 6, which is available in five trim levels, the XEV 9e is offered in four distinct trims: Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three. The Pack Two and Pack Three Select variants are priced at ₹24.90 lakh and ₹27.90 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively, resulting in a price difference of ₹3 lakh. While the Pack Three Select includes additional features, several fundamental aspects remain consistent between the two variants.
Both the Pack Two and Pack Three Select variants of the XEV 9e are equipped solely with the smaller 59 kWh battery pack. Notably, this battery pack is reported to support DC fast charging at a rate of up to 175 kW, enabling a charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 20 minutes. The claimed range for both the Pack Two and Pack Three Select is 542 km.
Furthermore, the Mahindra XEV 9e, powered by the 59 kWh battery pack, delivers a maximum output of 230 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. This electric SUV maintains a rear-wheel-drive configuration and features three driving modes: Range, Everyday, and Race. Additionally, it includes a Boost mode and a One-pedal drive mode. While the core specifications are largely similar across the two variants, the differences in features raise the question of whether the additional ₹3 lakh is justified.
