Mahindra is developing a series of electric SUVs under its two sub-brands, XEV and Born Electric (BE). Following the recent introduction of the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6, the Indian automotive leader is now focusing on another model within the XEV sub-brand, the Mahindra XEV 7e, which will serve as the fully electric version of the Mahindra XUV700.

Images of the production-ready Mahindra XEV 7e have surfaced online, providing insights into the design approach of this forthcoming electric SUV. It appears that the Mahindra XEV 7e will incorporate numerous design features similar to those of the newly launched XEV 9e. Upon its release, this second electric SUV from the XEV sub-brand is expected to be positioned below the XEV 9e.

Mahindra XEV 7e: Key things to expect

The Mahindra XEV 7e will feature a front design that closely resembles that of the Mahindra XEV 9e. It will be equipped with inverted L-shaped connected LED daytime running lights and a split LED projector headlight configuration. The headlamps will be arranged in a vertical stack, while the LED daytime running lights will be linked by a sleek horizontal strip that extends along the edge of the hood.

An additional design aspect specific to the Mahindra XEV 7e is its aerodynamically crafted alloy wheels. The side and rear profiles of the XEV 7e also bear a resemblance to the Mahindra XUV700 SUV, which serves as the foundation for this electric vehicle. It will feature similar LED taillights and a connecting strip that traverses the center of the tailgate. A significant distinction from the XEV 9e is that the forthcoming XEV 7e will exhibit a boxy appearance, whereas the XEV 9e will showcase a coupe SUV design.

The interior of the Mahindra XEV 7e will feature a black and white color scheme, complemented by white seat upholstery. It is anticipated to include a dual-spoke steering wheel adorned with an illuminated infinity logo, similar to that found in the XEV 9e. Like its larger counterpart, the Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to be equipped with a triple-screen configuration, which will consist of three 12.3-inch digital displays for the touchscreen infotainment system, the instrument cluster, and a screen for the front passenger. Additional features are likely to encompass multi-zone climate control, a premium audio system, powered and ventilated front seats with a memory function, and a panoramic sunroof.

In terms of safety, the Mahindra XEV 7e is projected to include seven airbags and a 360-degree surround view camera, features that are also present in the XEV 9e. Furthermore, it is expected to be equipped with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite.

Built on the INGLO architecture, similar to the XEV 9e and BE 6, the Mahindra XEV 7e electric SUV will offer battery pack options of 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The smaller battery pack is expected to provide a range of approximately 550 kilometers, while the larger option is anticipated to deliver a range of around 650 kilometers on a single charge.
