Mahindra Thar Roxx is anticipated to launch soon in a new Black Edition. The company has utilized social media to promote the upcoming Thar Roxx, developed in partnership with John Abraham. In a video, John Abraham is interviewed by Pratap Bose, the Design Head of Mahindra.

During the interview, the celebrity shared his fondness for the color black, noting that all the vehicles in his garage are black. The automaker captioned the post, “When it’s a Thar ROXX in the works for a special someone, the anticipation knows no bounds. The countdown is on."

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Black Edition updates

The new iteration of the Thar Roxx is expected to feature a comprehensive blacked-out aesthetic both inside and out. This may include black alloy wheels, black interiors, and black bumpers. Furthermore, the logos might also be rendered in black. However, these modifications are speculative and may not reflect the final product.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Engine options

The Thar Roxx is available with two engine choices: a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Both engines can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The Thar Roxx offers both 2WD and 4WD drivetrain options, with the 4WD system exclusively available with the diesel engine.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Safety

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite that includes six airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all occupants, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a Seatbelt Reminder (SBR), standard across all models, thereby ensuring significant protection for passengers. It also incorporates advanced Level 2 ADAS features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and a 360-degree surround view system with a Blind View Monitor. Additionally, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Brake Locking Differential (BLD) enhance the vehicle's safety profile.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx has received a commendable 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. This newly launched SUV scored 31.09 out of 32 for adult occupant safety and 45 out of 49 for child safety. The AX5L and MX3 variants underwent rigorous testing by Bharat NCAP. Moreover, both the Mahindra XUV400 and the 3XO have also achieved a 5-star rating in similar crash test assessments.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Variants and pricing

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is available in six distinct variants: MX1, MX3, AX3L, MX5, AX5L, and AX7L. It is important to note that the AX3L variant is exclusively equipped with a diesel engine and a manual transmission. Conversely, the AX5L variant features a diesel engine but is available only with an automatic transmission. The remaining variants are powered by petrol engines. Four-wheel drive (4WD) options are available starting from the MX5 variant and higher, with no petrol engine option for the 4WD variants.

The pricing for the Mahindra Thar Roxx begins at ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and extends up to ₹23.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
