Mahindra has established itself as India's most valuable automobile manufacturer and ranks as the 11th most valuable car producer globally. Renowned for its SUVs, including the Scorpio-N, Thar Roxx, and XUV700, the company has surpassed India's leading carmakers, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors, in the competition to be recognized among the world's most valuable automotive brands. Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of the Mahindra Group, expressed his appreciation for the brands that have contributed to the company's growth over the years in response to this significant milestone.
According to Companies Market Cap, Mahindra has outperformed well-known international brands such as Ford Motor, Hyundai Motor, and Kia, securing its position as the 11th most valuable carmaker worldwide. Among Indian manufacturers, only Mahindra, Maruti, and Tata have made it onto the list of the 50 most valuable carmakers globally. This ranking is determined by various factors, including market capitalization, market value, and revenue. Mahindra's valuation stands at $43.2 billion, approximately equivalent to ₹36.68 thousand crore.
In light of this achievement, Anand Mahindra acknowledged the contributions of previous global automotive partners that have aided Mahindra in becoming one of the most valuable carmakers. He took to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his thoughts: “In 1991, when the Indian economy opened up, the world believed there were scant chances of our survival as an independent automaker. We sought out Stellantis (Peugeot—for engine know-how), Ford, and Renault for knowledge on how to build modern cars. And we are grateful for their partnership. So I have to admit to a tinge of gratification at seeing this ranking."
Currently, Mahindra ranks as India's fourth largest carmaker, following Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor, and Tata Motors. The company leads the SUV market with the highest market share, offering a range of models including the Thar, XUV 3XO, and Bolero, in addition to the Scorpio-N, Thar Roxx, and XUV700.
